Question / Issue #6: Won’t the proposed project cause traffic congestion?
“Traffic congestion on Hiatus Road, already growing beyond the current capacity, overloading the roadways and resulting in additional accidents. As per the 2006 study – Roads Master Plan, growth rate on this road was estimated to be 2.48% annually. This however, did not consider the implications of rezoning. Note that sections of this road that would be impacted by these changes were already designated as D and F in 2008.“
RESPONSE:
We engaged an experienced traffic professional to conduct a comprehensive traffic impact study. The study concluded “the Level of Service for the project areas and nearby signalized intersections is acceptable. The new trips anticipated to be generated by the proposed redevelopment of the site will not have a significant impact on the surrounding roadways.”
The Town of Davie will review Rexmere Reserve’s traffic impact study as part of the Town’s review process.
